ASD and Social Communication Specialist

Michelle holds a BA Hons in Drama, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, and a Master's degree in Special Education, with her thesis and modules focused on autism spectrum disorders. With over a decade of experience in education — including teaching iGCSE Drama and working in specialist SEN roles abroad — she founded SLEducation to combine her drama training and specialist expertise into something genuinely different: a programme where communication skills are actively practised in real life situations, through improvisation.

A session structure built for real progress

Every session follows the same clear, predictable structure — so there are no surprises, just focused practice.

STEP 01
📋

Explicit Teaching

Each session begins with a focused presentation on one specific communication, life skill, or social environment — covering the theory, the social environment, and the reasoning behind it — clear, literal, and evidence-based. No guesswork.

STEP 02
🎭

Improvisation Practice

The skill is then practised through live, spontaneous real-life scenarios tailored to the individual — with verbal feedback throughout.

STEP 03
📝

Feedback Report

A full feedback report on performance and progress is sent to the client and/or parent within 48 hours of every session.

STEP 04
📥

Resources Included

Every package includes copies of the PDF presentations used in session, along with digital self-study workbooks and resources for parents and caregivers, where applicable.

Why improvisation?

Fixed responses fail the moment a real conversation goes somewhere unexpected. Improvisation instead builds genuine, flexible skills in a comfortable, supportive environment — skills that transfer to real situations, not just the ones already practised.
