SLEducation is for individuals with ASD, social communication differences or ADHD, aged 13 and above. Sessions are suitable for anyone with basic verbal language and a basic level of listening and reading comprehension who would benefit from dedicated, practical social skills support. Both individuals and parents or carers can book sessions.
ASD and ADHD sessions are priced the same: • 5-session course: HKD 3,000 • 10-session course: HKD 5,500 • Single ongoing sessions: HKD 600 each Full details are in my Services Guide. Conversion to your local currency is available on request.
SLEducation is an educational service, not a therapeutic one. Sessions focus on teaching and practising specific communication, life and executive function skills and are not a substitute for clinical therapy or medical intervention. SLEducation resources, however, can complement existing therapeutic and counselling work and can be suitable for use by professionals in those settings. If you are unsure whether sessions are appropriate for your situation, please get in touch for a conversation before booking.
No, a formal diagnosis is not required. I understand that every family's situation is different, and for many reasons some families choose not to pursue a diagnosis. I work with individuals with autistic or ADHD traits, whether or not they have a diagnosis. What matters most is that sessions are a good fit for your child's needs and goals, which we can talk through together in the free consultation.
Yes. ADHD is one of my two specialisms, covered in my Master's degree and professional development. Sessions build executive function skills such as getting started, planning, time management and impulse control, using CBT-informed strategies and Stop-Think practised live. I work with individuals with ADHD only, and with both ASD and ADHD.
Sessions can combine topics from both areas, for example conversation skills with time management. We agree the focus together in the first session.
Sessions are CBT-informed support, not CBT therapy. If clinical support is needed, I will always recommend a qualified clinician.
At the moment, all SLEducation sessions are one-to-one. Online social skills groups are coming soon. Join the waitlist to be the first to hear when they launch.
Training built around fixed responses to fixed situations runs into a problem: real life is unpredictable, and a fixed response fails the moment something unexpected happens. SLEducation uses improvisation as a practice tool. Individuals practise responding flexibly to real, spontaneous situations in a comfortable, supportive environment. This builds genuinely transferable skills rather than memorised responses.
Yes, completely. No political or religious viewpoint is brought into any session or resource. It is not the role of an educator to influence a student's political or religious beliefs. Sessions focus purely on skill development, using clear facts and evidence. Students are supported to think for themselves and reach their own conclusions. A student's values and beliefs are their own.
Sessions are approximately one hour long. The first part (around 40 minutes) covers instruction, teaching strategies, and activities for a specific communication, life or executive function skill. The second part (around 20 minutes) is live improvisation practice using real-life scenarios. A full feedback report is then sent within 48 hours.
All sessions take place online via video call. SLEducation is based in Macau and works primarily with families in Macau and Hong Kong. Families further afield — including Australia, the UK, and the US — are also welcome to get in touch to check time zones. Read more about autism support in Hong Kong and autism support in Macau on the blog.
The free consultation is a 20-minute video call with Michelle. It is a chance for you to ask any questions about the approach, discuss your situation, and find out if SLEducation is the right fit. Course options and pricing are available in my downloadable Services Guide, so you can come to the call already knowing your options. There is no obligation to book sessions afterwards.
Yes. Single sessions are HKD 600 each, for both ASD and ADHD. It is worth noting that social communication and executive function skills cannot be developed quickly — consistent practice over time is what produces lasting progress. Courses are therefore recommended for broader skill development. Individual sessions are most useful for specific, focused goals such as preparing for a job interview, or for continued practice after a course.
Yes, navigating romantic relationships and dating is an area that many individuals with ASD find particularly challenging. SLEducation can cover this as a session topic. However, this service is only available for individuals aged 18 and above.
Yes. While SLEducation is designed with teenagers (13+) as the primary audience, sessions are equally suitable for adults. The content and scenarios are adapted to be relevant to the individual's actual life stage and goals.
Unfortunately SLEducation sessions are not suitable for non-verbal individuals. Sessions require basic verbal communication as improvisation and live practice are central to the approach.
This is completely understandable. The first session is always relaxed and conversational with no pressure to jump straight into improvisation. Michelle works at the individual's pace and builds comfort gradually.
This varies depending on the individual's goals and starting point. A 5-session course is a good starting point. A 10-session course allows broader, more in-depth progress.
There is no upper age limit. Social communication and executive function skills can be developed at any age and sessions are adapted to suit the individual's life stage and goals.
Sessions are not recorded by default. If recording is something you would like to discuss, please raise this during your free consultation.
Yes. Sessions are available to individuals aged 13 and above. Anyone under the age of 18 must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to book. Parents are encouraged to be involved in the intake process and will receive feedback reports after every session.
Sessions require a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will result in the loss of that session from your package. If SLEducation needs to cancel a session for any reason, it will always be rescheduled at a mutually convenient time.
Yes. Resources are available to purchase separately via TES and Teachers Pay Teachers. They can be used independently by individuals, parents, or professionals without any requirement to book 1:1 sessions.
